Dear Colleagues,
Representing Center colleagues, I am delighted to invite you to be our guest during a special conference held by the National Research and Development Center to Improve Education for Secondary English Learners, housed at WestEd. During this conference, we will share work we have been conducting for the last 5 and a half years funded by the Institute of Education Sciences.
We will meet at the San Francisco WestEd office from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on January 23, 2026. We are planning an informative and interactive day with workshops, panel discussions, and demonstrations. Materials, breakfast, and lunch will be provided.
As the Center comes to a close, we would like to share the rich and innovative research, materials, pedagogy, and tools we have designed to use in teacher education and professional learning. While some of these materials will be broadly distributed on the WestEd website, additional videos and ancillary materials—which are more nuanced, and thus require understanding contexts, purposes, and development—will only be given to participants who attend the conference.
You will be receiving more detailed information as time goes by. We sincerely hope you can join us.
Since we can only accommodate 80 participants, please RSVP by November 15, 2025.
Looking forward to hosting you,
Aída Walqui, Ph.D.
PI and Director, National Research and Development Center to Improve Education of Secondary English Learners, WestEd

When I want to take a break from professional reading, I enjoy puzzle games. If you're into Block Blast, Block Blast game guide is a useful resource for solving challenging levels and improving your strategy.
Interesting overview! The CDC homepage does a good job of organizing a huge amount of public health information into clear categories, making it easier for visitors to find topics quickly. Even though this snapshot is from 2016, it's a nice reminder of how important intuitive navigation is for information-heavy websites.
